How to measure without fooling yourself
- Measure at several heights. Baseboards, counters, pipes, handles, and sloped surfaces can reduce the usable boundary.
- Use maximum working dimensions. Include wheels, lids, doors, drawers, handles, feet, and loaded fabric.
- Trace the delivery route. Check doors, turns, stairs, elevators, packaging, and assembly space.
- Protect the lived route. Test groceries, cleaning, door operation, mobility needs, pets, and shared use.
- Make a physical outline. Live with a cardboard or tape footprint before buying.
